Fabulous 1940s hostess coat robe by Textron. Introduced in 1946, this is the 'Pearl of the Orient' in Mandarin red with white lining. It fully quilted, has an exterior pocket and a replacement clear button at upper shoulder. Inner ties and waist sash. The color is a lighter red, more like a watermelon red-pink. The original magazine advertisement is shown in the 4th photo. It is in excellent condition, there is only one faint spot on the front near the edge, see close up of the spot in the last photo.

Textron has been in business since the 1920s. Starting out as the Special Yarns Company, they produced yarn and textiles. During WWII, they were the leading supplier of parachute fabric to the US military. At the end of the war, the name was changed to Textron. Today they are a leader in helicopter and aircraft design and manufacturing, including brands such as Cessna and Beechcraft.

Made of rayon satin. No size tag, fits like a modern medium. The measurements listed below were taken while robe was laying flat and doubled where appropriate.
